Overview:
Okala!!!! Was the name every child who made a save in goal playing football in the 1970s and 1980s. Emmanuel Okala was the undisputed number one goalkeeper for the Rangers International football club as well as the Nigerian National team from 1972 to 1980. His time with the Green Eagles (now Super Eagles after the first AFCON feat) reached a pinnacle as he became the first Nigerian player to win the coveted African Player of the Year. A true inspiration on and off the field!
We aim to honor a true national sporting hero whilst he is here and able to appreciate the gesture. As such we want to gift him what we can to say “Thank you for your national service, for the inspiration to millions of African youths and for the memories and true heroics”. The funds raised will support modifications to his home, as he is now facing mobility and sight issues owing to age and we will dispatch all funds to Chief Emmanuel Okala in 3 tranches. 1st payment will be on the 31st of March 2025, the second will be on the 30th of April 2025 and the final payment will be made on his 74th birthday which will be May 17 2025.
Payments can be made via UK bank transfer, Nigerian bank transfer or Paypal (for the US). 100% of funds raised will be remitted by a money transfer provider to Chief Okala and no commission nor will deductions be made for this fund raiser. Donations can be open or anonymous (for this you will be given a code name to allow tracking of individual payments). Contribute any amount to support the cause. Every donation counts!
